A sans serif companion to Morris Fuller Bentonôs earlier serif type, Clearface Gothicô Bold was designed around 1908. Compact like its predecessor, Clearface Gothic Bold is a sans with a hint of serif style. The end of its letterforms bear traces of tiny ôbeakedô serifs, mating the typeface more closely with the serifed Clearface. This unique sans can be used in small text passages, but is most appropriate for display typography.
