more information about the font

Richard Lipton's Bickham Script is a flowing, formal script typeface based on the lettering of 18th century writing masters, as rendered in the unparalleled engravings of George Bickham. This ornate script lends a signature flourish to invitations, menus, annual reports, restaurant logos, and packaging. With dozens of alternate letterforms in addition to its range of weights, Bickham Script's personality can range from poised to extravagant. The most recent version of Bickham Scipt (the OpenType Bickham Script Pro, released 2004) includes over 1,700 glyphs per font. Additionally, users who work with OpenType-supporting applications such as Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator CS may take advantage of a multitude of extra OpenType features, such as the automatic substitution of alternate characters or discretionary ligatures, making it easier to set varying, elegant text in with Bickham Script than ever before.

Bickham Script is intended primarily for use in display settings.
Certain same-letter pairs are replaced by alternates and ligatures, eliminating visual repetition with subtle shape variations.

Bickham Script Pro also features an expanded set of highly flourished discretionary lowercase glyphs and ligatures reserved for specialized applications, and includes an additional set of swash capitals, flourished numerals, an expanded set of accented glyphs, and additional math and monetary symbols.

Intended primarily for display settings, Bickham Script Pro is offered in regular, semibold, and bold weights. Its personality can range from poised to extravagant, lending a signature flourish to invitations, menus, annual reports, restaurant logos, and packaging.
