more information about the font

Designed in 1993 by Chong Wah of Monotype, Ocean Sans is a typeface that ranges from normal to extended in width, and light to extra bold in weight. It has a large x-height with resulting short ascenders and descenders. It?s unusual for a sans serif because of its relatively high contrast between thick and thin strokes, which makes it useful for display purposes.

It performs well in innumerable type-setting situations. Since the normal width of Ocean Sans is quite narrow, it?s ideal for magazines and other text settings rife with copyfitting issues.
